The number of schemes being submitted for change of use from offices to residential shows no signs of abating and is still very popular with owners of vacant offices (see below). Planning permission and Listed Building consent has been granted for a new house in the heart of Wokingham Town Centre Conservation Area and adjoining several Listed Buildings. The Inspector agreed with our assertion that the NPPF’s presumption in favour of such development in a sustainable location should apply a “clever, intrinsically attractive, design”.
