Permitted Development Rights – Retail to Residential

Change of Use from Shop to FlatsThe supply of new homes is being boosted by certain “permitted development rights” found in the Town and Country Planning General Permitted Development Order 2015, where planning permission is not required. Many people are already familiar with the permitted change of use from offices to residential under Part O, from which we have produced a large number of units throughout the London and the South East for our Clients. Increasingly, permitted development rights are also being exercised in respect of the change of use from shops to flats under Part M. Both these rights are subject to a number of provisos. To see if your scheme qualifies, please contact Carter Planning.
